„Baking for children“ is the project of Dr. Alice Tomková, who has been helping needy children in this way for 15 years.
We refer to the sale of bread and pastry products to the public. The pastries are sold by well-known personalities at a price volunteered by the purchaser, whilst a whole line of celebrities swap over at the sales point at Myslbek throughout the event.
Baking for children takes place regularly on the first Saturday of every month from 10.00 until 17:00 hours in the Myslbek passage in Prague since the year 1999.
Up until June 2014, Baking for children was supported mainly by the foreign projects of UNICEF, which has, in almost 15 years, given the amount of 4 580 322.30 Czech crowns and 200 GBP.
From September 2014 the public non-profit organisation LET‘S GIVE CHILDREN A CHANCE o.p.s. has assumed patronage of the project Baking for children, and has participated in the event several times during the last 3 years. The proceeds from the sales will now be designated for the support of Czech children, who are, and will continue to be, a part of our society.
Some of the“ Baking“ organisations increase their sales by selling hot drinks in mugs with the logo LETˇS GIVE CHILDREN A CHANCE, and the sale of these advertising products, or articles made by the children themselves whom this organisation is helping, also add to the takings. The company Caffè Milani, who are also partners in the project, prepare us high quality coffee from the firm Milani and tea by the Original First Tea label. Thanks should go to Víta Mullerová, who personally prepares the hot drinks for us with complete professionalism.
Come to support us every first Saturday of the month to the passage Myslbek from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We start on Saturday September 6th 2014. Pastries for voluntary price will be also sold by celebrities. This way you can meet our patrons – Lucie Benešová, Bára Špotáková, Vláďa Hron, Jan Měšťák and even Eliška Kaplicky among others.
